Meditation
Meditation is an ancient practice, which allows us to relax deeply in a natural way and to get to know ourselves more fully.
Mindfulness is simply paying attention in the present, whether that is an internal process such as planning your day, or an external focus such as making breakfast.
Two Zen Meditation Training Courses
In order for you to gain the many benefits of regular meditation and mindfulness, I run two 8-step courses:
1. Zen meditation and mindfulness for wellbeing
This course uses easy to apply Zen practices to regain our health, happiness and the effortless flow in our lives. For more details see the ‘Wellbeing’ page above.
2. Zen meditation and mindfulness for Insight
And this program gives you the Zen tools you need to explore yourself in a deep and profound way, and to clarify your life purpose. For more details see the ‘Insights’ page above.
Benefits of Meditation & Mindfulness
Meditation and mindfulness allow us to reduce, often significantly, the stress we experience in our lives. In this de-stressed state we are physically and mentally healthier, feel more alert and have more abundant energy for life.
And study after study has shown that people who engage in regular daily meditation of only 20 to 30 minutes a day can achieve measurable health benefits.
General Points
The course is open to all, and no belief in Zen or in Buddhism is required (or indeed taught).
During our meditation practices we explore sitting, lying down and walking meditation styles. There is no requirement to be super-flexible, and sitting meditation can be performed whilst on a chair.
This course does require commitment and an application of the principles taught for the benefits to be gained. And we require students to practice their meditation homework, between training sessions, on a daily basis.
This course is not suitable for people with serious mental health issues such as psychosis and schizophrenia.
